Gawd, no! That would not only be illegal, but we might get in trouble from Metallica for not guaranteeing their cut. Then again, we probably wouldn't put Metallica on one of our creations, so maybe we would have nothing to worry about. What about mix tapes then?
Yeah, 'cause if you make tapes no one sues. Riiiiight. Supposing you even know what tapes are, that is.Then, WTF?
TableForOne is a clearinghouse for ideas of theme-based playlists. Share your ideas or playlists for mix tapes you already own with others by contacting us or peruse our library for our boffo ideas for thematic playlists. All we ask in return is that you credit us appropriately -- unless you are making money off it, in which case we expect a healthy share of the gross (no joke!).How do you guys come up with this stuff?
One part divine inspiration, mixed with two childhoods spent listening to the world famous KROQ, several long weekends, two personal computers, the help of iTunes and the USPS, and a few hundred miles driven in Buck, Ape Man Dave's Isuzu Trooper and our unofficial Board Room. Easy as Sunday morning. How often do you update with new playlists?
It varies depending on our time, inclination, and other work responsibilities. Since we don't sell anything it gets difficult to make any money doing this. Therefore, we have boring, nowhere, low-paying, suck-it-up jobs that waste our talents -- just like you. Feel free to check in often, or better yet make us a spiffy RSS feed and then we can keep you updated. Like we said, we've got real jobs. Which we need to get back to.Can I get a CD jewel case insert for any of the playlists on this site?
Reuster Design has designed CD jewel case jackets for select playlists. To get one, you need to work a deal with the Monkeyboy. Why is he called the Monkeyboy?
We're not completely sure, but it has something to do with eating bananas. Why don't you include Paula Abdul on any of your playlists?
Well, Virginia, as you must already know, Paula Abdul is the least talented pop singer to ever get recording contract. No, we take that back (Milli Vanilli, Menudo and Vanilla Ice: we are looking at you). As Julie Brown so wisely observed, "Why they're famous, we don't know, but Paula Abdul's gotta go." And frankly, just for asking that question you should get a boot to the head.
You sure seem to have a lot of 1980s New Wave and Punk music in your playlists. Do you know it's the twenty-first century?
How can I get a seat at the cool kids' TableForOne and participate in all this fun?We are quite capable of reading a calendar, but thanks for asking. As our mission says, "committed to devising exceptional combinations of music we like." We, needless to say, pick music that we enjoy. Yes, most of it happens to be from the 1980s. Really, have you listened to the radio lately, some of the stuff coming out today really blows. We are, however, open to suggestions for themes and playlist additions from nearly any musical genre. It does have to meet some basic requirements: 1) it fits the theme of the proposed compilation and 2) we have to like it. Pretty darn simple.
1) Be cool. 2) Submit your great ideas for themes or playlist additions; just leave us a comment. If they are cool, you'll be contacted by our vast Human Resources Department. And if not, go back to reading your Tiger Beat magazine.
