FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
TableForOne Productions launches mix CD website

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- Amid a gyrating throng of pop-stars, music company executives, pumped-up musclemen and sequin-clad go-go dancers, TableForOne Productions officially launched its new website Wednesday.

The site, www.tableforone.org, promises to be the "home of the universe’s best library of thematic mix CDs."

"It seems like with every compilation the big record companies put out, you get stuck with about half of the songs being crap no one wants to listen to," said Monkeyboy Reuster, TableForOne co-founder and grand poobah. "Using our boffo compilation ideas, people who happen to have the rights to copy all these songs could mix their own discs where every song is worth listening to. This would eliminate the imperiling distraction that comes on the freeway when you have to hit the ‘skip’ button on the CD player half the time."

Masterminded by the Monkeyboy’s comrade and co-founder DJ Captain Kirk, TableForOne Productions rearranges the best of 1980s New Wave and other music according to bold new thematic categories that bring out the subtle nuances of the songs you formerly just thought were "pretty good." These erudite groupings not only reveal the hidden meaning of individual songs but also provide thought-provoking insight into the powerful underlying currents that pervaded and influenced New Wave music, and hence popular culture.

The Captain, who was reared on the mother’s milk of early ‘80s New Wave and Punk music, stated, "While the idea isn’t revolutionary – I mean people have been making mix compilations since the days of tapes – the idea of promoting listenable, thematic mix CDs arranged to suit our active modern lifestyles" was one she just couldn’t pass up.

The library of ideas will be updated periodically, and visitors to the site are encouraged to submit their own ideas for compilations or additions to existing playlists.

"We want to be the preeminent clearinghouse for great mix ideas, and not necessarily just our own. We fully intend to become the absolute best source for musical mix CD thinking anywhere in universe," said the Captain. "All aboard."

Invitations to Wednesday’s exclusive website launch party were reportedly being auctioned off on ebay for record amounts, although exact figures could not be confirmed. Among those expected to attend were the Apeman Dave, TableForOne’s marketing genius; his wife, Annie; their Isuzu Trooper, Buck (parked right at the entrance); and the Jester, who inspired the entire endeavor and now assists in the group’s research.
